Charitable Trust: Our Future Plans

In 2013 we will be looking at setting up the Daneline Charitable Trust. The aims of this will be twofold:

  1. Welfare for the Daneline's Great Dane OAPs to pay for medication / food etc to enable these poor old souls to live their last lap with comfort and dignity

  2. Research into health issues relating to Great Danes

For example, we will monitor the ongoing health of all Great Danes coming to us using any available paperwork, which will then enable us to channel any proceeds to specific areas. Any Great Danes regrettably needing to be euthanised will have their hearts send to University of Liverpool for The LUPA Project. The LUPA Project is a Europe-wide association of vets and geneticists who are dedicated to investigating genetic diseases of dogs and people. As part of this project, researchers at the University of Liverpool Small Animal Teaching Hospital are investigating dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) in Great Danes and other breeds.
