Tia
Hello again, Tia here.
It’s a while since I have given you an update on my progress but now I am
Dog-of-the-Month I thought I’d better get paw to paper again. Yes, treatment
on my ears is continuing but they are much better. I was at my vet’s on
Monday and she says that she can now see my right ear drum. That is progress
indeed at first she could barely see anything down my ears, except masses of
infection. My left ear is also much better but the ear drum isn’t yet
visible. I’m still taking my Pred (medicine) like a good girl, and I have
Canaural put down each ear and then massaged in twice a day. I still love it
and my personal grooming sessions. My ears are so much more comfortable,
too, and despite all this, all the treatments and the poking and prodding
down my ears by all and sundry I have never done so much as curl my lip.

Living here is pretty good. I am allowed off the lead in the
fields now because I don’t even look at the sheep over the wall. I enjoy
running around and my foster mum has bought one of those tennis ball
throwing things. I am getting quite good at bringing the ball back and
swapping it for a Gravy Bone. Even without the ball my Gravy Bone Recall is
excellent, even if I say so myself. I can also do a snappy sit if food is
offered; it’s less snappy if there is no food but I still do it. If any of
you are looking for a dog for obedience, with a little training I’m your
girl. My foster mum says she might take me to agility as well if she gets
the chance as I am light on my feet, very nimble and keen to please.
I have to say that we Danes don’t come much easier than me to live with:
kind and gentle inside and out, calm and quiet in the house, house trained,
non-destructive, great with people and animals, excellent on lead and
obedient .... I could go on. There’s got to be someone out there for me.
