Tammy

Hello  My name is Tammy
My life hasn’t been an easy one, but quite frankly coming to Daneline, about a month ago, was the best thing that ever happened to me. I feel so lucky that I’ve met Lissi and she almost instantly figured out what was wrong with me.

The thing is: I’m deaf, and no one ever discovered that in the previous 5 years of my life

I can’t hear, that’s a fact, but other than that my health is absolutely fine. Nevertheless not hearing made my life hell. People thought all sorts of me; mostly the feeling was that I was a naughty dog, which I’m not. If you know a deaf human you probably are aware that not hearing makes you very suspicious of everything and everyone, as one is taken by surprise more often than not.

As I said before, thanks to Lissi everything is now changing. I’m a lot happier, I’m not as suspicious, which makes me bark a lot less, I’m much more relaxed and I’m enjoying it. These humans here are very friendly and they sign to me, which is great! Modesty apart: I’m a fast learner; I already know most of the signs. It’s such a great feeling being understood.

I recently rediscover my playful nature and it’s fantastic! Everybody loves to play with me, even the neighbours. I love my walks and although I still get a bit nervous out of the lead (I think I’m frightened of being lost) and I won’t leave my walker’s side I’m getting more confident every day. Nevertheless I do enjoy running and jumping around the park. I also love going in the car and you can be sure I’ll keep it safe until you get back, if you can’t take me with you, because I’m more than happy to go with you everywhere. But as any good girl I can stay at home on my own, and I won’t do any damage, I’ll just go to sleep. As long as I’ve been fed...

Thank you Lissi, you have saved me!
