The Rainbow Bridge
inspired by a Norse legend

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over* together.

EDDIE

Eddie died on February the 19th 2010 at home with his friends. He is buried in the garden.

Part of me died with Eddie. To all those who had the good fortune to meet this unique, special, muddled chap he will greatly missed as he became Daneline’s mascot.

He was my soul mate, I needed him as much as he needed me. Hope to meet him at the rainbow bridge.

CARLA-JO
Our Treasured Friend,  18Sept 09   Aged 12 years

Not blessed with great looks, not granted great size,
But second to none in our family's eyes,
Forever so tolerant, patient and kind,
Our guardian angel, forced to leave us behind,
Run free with your friends now, there is no need to fear,
Only time separates us before we are near,
Once again we shall walk through the fields, woods and lanes,
Together once more with our gentle Great Dane.

XENA - 2009

An elegant true lady who gave us so much love in the three years she graced us.
With manners, dignity and a presence that just made you smile when you saw her.

POPPY - 2009

Poppy gave us over 4 wonderful years with a dog who was intelligent, crafty, loving, companion and friend to all

DUKE - 2009

For the short time you shared your life with us, you made an everlasting impression, We knew when we took on an older dog your time would be limited with us, and are so proud you chose us to spend your remaining time with. Run free at the Bridge Old Fella, free of pain.

MAX (2001 - 2009)

MEGAN - 2004

Our first Daneline Dane was a great ambassador.
A very gentle and loving lady.

JEEVES (1992 - 2007)

Jeeves lived to be a happy and mostly healthy 15 3/4year old handsome elderly gent.
He was never what you could call brave.

THOMAS
Daneline's ambassador in Spain

Thomas was a real gentleman, an ambassador for the Great Dane world, and my darling man.

HEIDI

We got her from Daneline when she was just 1 year old. She was a skinny bag of nerves then but soon gained weight and trust in us.
I only had my son then who was nearly 3 and since then I had two more children who Heidi mothered as much as I did. You can see her with Isabelle as a little one guarding her. We had 8 wonderful years with her and we all miss her desperately. She was not my first Dane but without a doubt the loveliest girl ever.

MILO

Our big puppy and our best friend.  A true gentle giant

Sadly another darling Dane for the rainbow bridge.

ELLIE

A true friend

TILLY

Sadly missed, Tilly was not just a dog she was one in a million and she was a great companion to us all.
